rings

This post is solely derived from the enthusiasm of mine for the Olympics.

I have a dream.

Have you ever imagine our Malaysia flag stood upon the highest pole during the champion’s ceremony during the Olympic. It is the moment of glory, self satisfaction slipped although spread to the masses which is the Rakyat. I wonder how many years must I wait to feel that kind of inner expression.

I don’t want to judge my country blatantly and blindly as I recalled from 20th August 2008 debate between our current Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng and former Chief Minister of Penang, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.

“Tembak dahulu sebelum semak.”

What a beautiful remarks from our minister. Translate it to English and you’ll experience humour. Ignoring sports is the highest point of idiocy and of course it is unpardonable if facilities are not prepared accordingly. China has inspire me the most. They merely has the same advantages as ours in the sports which focuses on individual categories such as badminton and table tennis.

Thus the brilliant minds of China had came out with a plan to rule them all. Project 119. A project which aims for 119 gold medals to be hand out during the summer Olympics. Clearly we can see the project has bear fruits to China. “Swifter, Higher, Stronger”. The Olympic motto proves all the merits needed in conquering the games. We are also able to achieve such triumphant.

Example : Boleh 119. Catchy but attainable.

Taking part in the Olympic is a privilege but winning it will forever motivates the Rakyat. It is a breakthrough that must be done. We should produce full-baked athletes and sportsmen whom we must appreciate and value. Core ideas of supporting our countrymen in the quest of bringing Malaysia’s reputation to the highest level should also be in the fundamentals of our citizen. It’s the source of their strength, swiftness and their highest will.

So, I urge everyone especially my generation in fulfilling this dream. Sports are one of the medium to unite everyone in one cause and it is better for the Rakyat. As stated by Dr. Azly Rahman from the Republic of Virtue, a Ministry of Human Intelligence is needed. I think he’s right and much able to contribute in sports too. The spirit of Merdeka should be channel to sports as well.
